Affinity Media NE CIC is a Community Interest Company providing community radio stations and live events that serve Newcastle & Gateshead and North and South Tyneside. We broadcast from ‘pop-up’ studios in the centre of our communities and also broadcast live from our state of the art studios in South Shields town centre for our radio service Radio Shields.

We broadcast locally on DAB (Digital) Radio, and worldwide via our website, dedicated mobile apps and smart-speakers such as Amazon Alexa.

Our events are perfect for fundraising, or just to bring some music to the streets using a roaster of highly talented local artists who will be sure to draw in a crowd. Professional standard equipment and a highly qualified sound/stage engineer will ensure all events run smoothly.

Radio Stations

Affinity Media NE CIC is proud to run the South Shields, Tynemouth fulltime DAB radio service Radio Shields. The station broadcasts full-time, showcasing details of local events, news, and activities within the local area, mixing it up with the latest music from the charts, as well as music from the past 60 years.

The station broadcasts from it’s state-of-the-art studios in South Shields town centre and interviews decision makers and holds them to account on your behalf.

Radio Shields broadcasts live from some of the biggest events in North and South Tyneside. Previous shows have been brought from South Shields Market Place, the annual fireworks display on the sea front and even when the circus came to town!

Affinity Radio

A new communtiy radio station serving the communities of Newcastle and Gateshead and all the towns in between from Byker, Felling, Rowlands Gill to West Denton.
